We define the requirements that actually constrain the system:

From those constraints, I define the prototype architecture and select appropriate compute platforms, sensors, communication technologies, and software components.
2. Prototype Implementation
The architecture becomes real hardware.

Bill of Materials
Prototype BOM with component selections and relevant vendor information.
Validation Report
Summary of the requirements exercised during bench testing, observed performance, known limitations, and unresolved technical risks.
Engineering Risk Register
Known technical constraints, assumptions, prototype shortcuts, and areas requiring additional validation before production.
Productionization Roadmap
A prioritized description of what would need to change to move from the prototype toward a production system, including areas such as custom hardware, reliability testing, certification, security hardening, manufacturing, cost optimization, and additional software engineering.
Technical Handoff Session
A walkthrough of the architecture, repository, hardware, design decisions, known limitations, and recommended next steps.

How long does a prototype take?
Timeline depends on hardware availability and technical scope. A target schedule and milestones are defined before the engagement begins. Rapid Prototype projects are intentionally scoped around validating the critical technical path rather than building an entire production platform.
Who owns the code?
You receive ownership of the project-specific work product created for your engagement as defined in the Statement of Work.
Open-source and third-party software remain governed by their existing licenses.
There are no ongoing AmigoComercio software licensing fees unless a future engagement explicitly establishes them.
Can we sign an NDA?
Yes. A mutual NDA can be completed before confidential product information is exchanged.
Do you build production hardware?
The standard Rapid Prototype engagement focuses on functional prototype development using commercially available hardware wherever practical.
Production electronics, custom PCB development, certification, manufacturing engineering, and industrial design can be identified as next-stage requirements but are not assumed to be part of the prototype engagement.
Can you work with our existing engineering team?
Yes. The Architecture & Feasibility Package is specifically designed for teams that will perform implementation internally but need system-level architecture, platform selection, technical risk analysis, and a concrete implementation plan.
What happens after the prototype?
You receive the code, documentation, BOM, known limitations, technical risks, and productionization roadmap so that the next phase can be performed by your team, another engineering organization, or through a separately scoped engagement with AmigoComercio.
